A major global alternative energy supplier came to Risetime seeking help to upgrade their intranet portal from WSS to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 in order to take advantage of new SharePoint features that would increase company efficiency and keep pace with their rapid growth and expansion.

The new enterprise portal allows project and product information to be easily located while properly restricting access to secure pricing and contract information. Following Risetime’s SharePoint best practices, the client’s SharePoint farm was configured in a way that tailored versioning, document collaboration, and the use and management of content types to match business processes.

Risetime also worked with the client’s infrastructure team to plan the back-up and restore procedure for the company’s data and documents that reside in the SharePoint farm. In addition, to enhance “from-the-field” remote access to the portal, Risetime evaluated three solutions for synchronizing project documentation and data in limited connectivity scenarios.
