Challenge >

Advocate Bromenn revamped their process for pre-certifying physician orders so that they could more accurately bill and receive payment for services rendered. But this process still included massive amounts of paper and manual processing and routing.
 

Goal >

To create an online workflow that would allow schedulers to access, review, code and route incoming fax orders from physician offices to appropriate hospital departments.
 

Solution >

Faxes are received electronically into the RightFax server and moved automatically into SharePoint.  Once in SharePoint, the fax images are available for review and processing. The orders are now in a centralized, secure area that is accessible to those with appropriate security permissions.  Unique views are available for different statuses, user roles and departments.

Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, a 224-bed full-service, not-for-profit hospital, is one of the most advanced acute care facilities in central Illinois.  The hospital provides emergency and trauma care, cancer care, heart care, behavioral health, a stroke program and neurosciences.  They also provide a wide range of other primary and specialized programs, treatments and services to meet the medical needs of both inpatients and outpatients.
