Frequently Asked Questions

How did you get your name, Risetime?

When our President, Steven Bunes, started the company right out of college, much of our early work was in the electrical engineering space. In electronics, when describing a voltage or current step function, risetime refers to the time required for a signal to change from a specified low value to a specified high value. The name has stayed with the firm throughout the years as a reflection of our roots.

I’ve heard a lot about SharePoint, can you explain to me what it is?
Risetime has based many of the solutions we provide to clients such as websites, intranets, portals, and business workflows on Microsoft SharePoint as it is an easy to use and robust tool for managing content in the enterprise. By many in our industry, SharePoint is considered to be a highly effective, flexible, and robust development platform. SharePoint has been consistently rated as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant.

I see you’re a Microsoft Gold Partner; do you only work with Microsoft software?
We do work extensively with Microsoft but in addition we’re an Open Text Premier Partner and we also work with Fujitsu and AgilePoint for workflow solutions.  Our long history has enabled us to work with a variety of technologies including Java, Open Source, mobile development and mainframe systems as well as infrastructure solutions from desktops, servers, and enterprise networking.

Are all your clients in the Chicago area? Where does Risetime do business?
Risetime is headquartered in Chicago and the vast majority of our clients are located in the greater Chicago land area. We do provide services for clients all over North America.

Are you a staffing firm?
We characterize ourselves a bit differently than a pure staffing firm.  At Risetime, we invest the time to understand all the aspects a client is looking for to supply the consultants they need, and we make sure our team is able to excel in the technical aspects while understanding the business problems to be solved.  The majority of our consultants are full-time employees  and many have been enjoyed long-term relationships with the clients with whom they work.  To get a better idea of the variety of projects we work on, take a look at our Client Success Stories.

What’s the culture like working at Risetime?
